Some important notes and things to watch out for when using NetLogo
Tips and "gotchas"
- DO NOT use "turtles" as a breed in models with more than one breed of agent.
- In NetLogo, "turtle" is a generic term that really means "all breeds of agents". So, if you have, for example, a food chain with plants, fish, and turtles, and you
"ask" the turtles to (for example) turn red, all the plants, fish, and turtles will turn red.
- In this case, it would be safer to not use a breed called "turtles" at all. So, you could use plants, fish, and tortoises and if you want to turn the tortoises red
you can ask them to and the fish and plants won't turn red.
